COUNSELORS' ROLE IN BUILDING A HEALTHY, HAPPY AND PRODUCTIVE WORKPLACE
Every workplace should be a mentally healthy workplace according to The Hon. Jeff Kennett AC Chairman, Beyond Blue. Because of the unprecedented change in human condition brought about by rapid changes in society, mental health matters in every workplace.
Giving employees a chance to talk about issues that trouble them, is a way of supporting them develop better ways to manage their issues in a safe environment. Hence, this workshop shall provide counselors ways to stimulate personal growth in others, for them to manage themselves and become happier, healthier, and productive.

Dr. Salonga is the Head of the Guidance & Counseling Department of Centro Escolar University, being a registered guidance counselor, a registered psychologist and a certified counseling psychologist. She has been the Executive Director of the Mendiola Consortium since 1994. Mendiola Consortium is an organization of the five schools located in Mendiola - Centro Escolar University, College of the Holy Spirit, La Consolacion College, Manila, San Beda College, and St. Jude Catholic School.
She has a Bachelor's degree in Economics, has earned two Master's degree, MA in Psychology and MS in Guidance & Counseling, PhD in Curriculum & Supervision and a post-graduate degree in Marketing Strategy, Concepts and Principles of ISO in Higher Education. All of these degrees were taken at Centro Escolar University. She is currently an Internal Quality Auditor for The Quality & Risk Management System Committee of CEU.
Being an advocate of Mental Health, Dr. Salonga is an officer of three national organizations, the Philippine Guidance & Counseling Association, Inc., the Psychological Association of the Philippines and the Philippine Mental Health Association. At the same time, she is also an accreditor for PACUCOA. She has been a resource speaker in various fora, seminars, and conferences. She is both a college & graduate studies professor. In addition, she is a choir member of the Our Lady of Grace Magnificat Chorale in Grace Park, Caloocan City.
Dr. Salonga loves to travel, having been to several places in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Internationally, she had traveled to Asia, Europe, Scandinavian Countries, Russia and the Holy Land.
She was given Special Citation in 2015 by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), for her exemplary professional, social and civic contributions to the society and to the profession of guidance & counseling as attested to by her nomination as an outstanding professional by the Philippine Guidance & Counseling Association, Inc.
