Carla Sison Siojo has been connected with the Ateneo de Manila University for 37 years. First, as a student and then as an administrator.
She finished her undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Arts major in Psychology at the Ateneo in 1978. Right after her college graduation, she worked in a private trading firm as a Treasury Assistant. She then married and became a full-time, stay-home wife and mom who worked her way up from a domestic specialist to a home executive from 1982-1996.
Her encore career began in 1997 when she was offered the position, Assistant to the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at the Ateneo de Manila University. In 2000, when the School of Arts and Sciences restructured into the four Loyola Schools, she became the first Assistant to the Vice President for the Loyola Schools, the academic leader and chief operating officer of the tertiary level school unit of the Ateneo de Manila University.
She earned a Professional Diploma in Pastoral Ministry from the Center for Family Ministries, Inc. in 2001; completed her master's degree, Master of Arts Major in Pastoral Ministry: Family Ministry and Counseling at the Ateneo in 2004.
She has been serving as the Director of the Office of Placement and Career Services at the Ateneo de Manila University since 2011. This sparked her curiosity and interest in the field of career development.
She is currently the President of the Asia Pacific Career Development Association; Vice President of the Association of Placement Practitioners of Colleges and Universities, Inc.; founding member of the Ruben M Tanseco SJ Center for Family Ministries Alumni Association, Inc.; member of the Career Development Association of the Philippines, the National Career Development Association, and the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals.
Given her numerous involvements and passion for career development, her most important role to date is being a wife, a mother and grandmother. This is a special responsibility that always has top priority in her life.
